SOON TWO NEW CHARTER SCHOOLS

under a new plan to save two small local parish schools, the archdiocese of washington is getting out of the inner urban school business and renting the facilities to a charter school. the names will be changed and the religious instruction will be eliminated. dont worry, all the trophy iconic school like gonzaga college high school, st amsles and archbishop carroll will stay in business. but little schools like our Immaculate Conception elementary school and Holy redeemer ES will become charter schools. lets face it folks, the church needs to keep it hands of at risk children

SIMPLE QUICK EASY BLACK OLIVE PASTE

1 can generic black olives pitted cost usually about $1.19 or less
1 heaping table spoon of balsamic vinegar
1 heaping table spoon olive oil.

toss drained/rinsed olives and vinegar into food processor and let her rip.
pour paste into serving bowl and the olive oil over top. cover and refrigerate.

MOTORCYCLE/WHEELCHAIR COLLISION

blame the motorcycle driver but we know what goes on at Big Ben and across the street at the methadone clinic. is it any wonder that tourists entering town get a nasty first impression when they approach the lights at north capitol street they hit a wall of drug addicts and other substance abusers? who can blame them for making sure their doors are locked and you have a full tank of gas because there is no stopping or getting out of your car until you reach virginia.

An elderly man in a wheelchair died Sunday after he rolled into traffic and was struck by a motorcycle, a police source told The Examiner. The man, whose name wasn’t released publicly, apparently tried to beat the motorcyclist, who was in the oncoming lanes near the intersection of New York and North Capitol streets. the chesapeake house sat alone on the corner of 9th and H for years. i went inside once it was a gay bar with gogo boys dancing on the bars. they said spys use to meet there and all sorts of deals made. down the block on 9th was the Lone Star another boy dancing club.

A KILLING IN THE APARTMENT

in the first floor unit of a lincoln-westmoreland apartment a 15 yr old girl shot and killed a 16 yr old. wtf are loaded illegal guns doing in an apartment complex? why didn't the management company evict this tenant? keeping firearms is cause to quit lease or was the management company so greedy for the cash flow they overlooked the illegality and was this the drug dealers apartment where drugs are sold with window services or was that a different first floor apartment.

STABBING AT METHADONE PANTRY IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD

here's another instance where the social service squad say development will remedy the situation: the methadone clinic at 1st and N NE behind mcdonalds. all day saturday traffic was messed up along NY Avenue...from NE to NW because some junky got robbed/stabbed/killed after getting his fix at the clinic. the office of general services, office of planning and the real estate big shots need to decide where all these trashy junkies are going to go to get their fixes. for 20 years that methadone pantry has been operating. i guess in five years they'll post a banner claiming 25 years of serving the community. the halfway house at north capitol and K NW is demolished and now this clinic needs to go.

OPEN AIR SEX SITES IN MOUNT VERNON SQUARE

did you know the area has a rich history of sexual expression?

lower 9th street/MLK library/boystown. in the lower part of the central business district was filled with peep shows, gay bars with dancing and stripping boys. F street next to the MLK was closed to cars and at night was a gathering place for outdoor gay sex. boystown was the neighborhood where alot of cars from maryland and virginia would ride around the block near 7th and F streets NW, the heart of boystown.

with development came more shifting patterns. in the mid 90's boystown move to 5th street from E street all the way to K street. the northern part of boystown still happens outside the fun fair video store. the johns are still driving around and around.

i must mention the transexuals, "the girls" or the coloured TV's who have occupied several specific locations over the years. first they were at 10th and M and in the mid 90's they were run into the 4th and L area where they still work today.

but the biggest outdoor sex location was mount vernon square itself. behind the bushes next to the library surrounding the entire building guys would almost swarm there nightly. and they would carry on until sometimes 7 am the next morning. when the new convention center arrived they tore up all the landscape and pulled out all the hot spots of bushes and improved the lighting.
