HAPPY BIRTHDAY PILLOW

my little Pillow is 17 years old. still purring and with a wet nose. she's something else, i'm tellin ya. her son Henry is 13. both are spoiled, gentle and as sweet as can be. Pillow was abandoned when her crackhead owners got evicted for non-payment. we rescued her and somehow i ended up with her in '94 when her then owner got too ill to care for her. she's an absolute delight and is no shrinking violet when it comes to other backyard cats and the local raccoon traffic.

east hall of eastern market has reopened, they had a fire at that location in april. we are still waiting for the Shaw Slum Library to open, they had no fire....just a minor electrical issue that delayed they opening the entire summer. where's the outrage?

it's amazing what you see when watering a flower/herb garden in late august. just now, for example, there were two ladybugs doing it and an etty bitty praying mantis was flying from one plant to another because i was throwing water around and got it wet. ah, my only day off this week....arg!

family tells me she hadn't been there in three years so that would have made her 102 the time of her final visit. and although it wasnt waterfront property, seven acres across from waterfront property aint that bad either. :-)

when mrs dixon was mayor she had a guard house built for security up on 16th street. when barry was mayor he had one build too. tony williams took his security around the world with him. finally, we have a mayor who lives in the real world. he drives himself.

we've had enough mayors who drive around town like dictators from a 3rd world country. i like this new standard and hopefully the next mayor will continue this practice because the old way was a joke and a taxpayers waste of money.
