the cheery conclusion; bittersweet. the two sisters were liberated from held prisoner being the sadistic mother when orest arrives home and kills the bitch and her lover. the girls sing this here duet with chords and references to incest and lebianism and more symbolic chords to daddy-o. who knew elektra would dance herself into a triumphant frenzy and expire? at least she died happy, right? this is one of my favorites: ps. the rubensian with the loud beautiful voice is deborah voight. |
