MLK

i remember following the civil rights movement from the about 1964 and on. cumming from a very progressive household we were either new york state liberals or republicans. not too many democrats are in our family. when MLK was shot it WAS a big deal. mayor lindsey immediately went to the streets and calmed the fears of residents and shop keepers. the city shut down. being a teenager we went out shouting in the streets about the injustices of the day. i remember thinking what a fucked up country we live in when a man trying to get a union organized for workers would be assassinated. bbl.
